It couldn’t have been more of a perfectly picturesque day in Guilford, CT at Chaffinch Island when I took photos of this gorgeous chocolate labrador and his family. We were blessed with a bright blue sky with big fluffy clouds which made a perfect backdrop for our session with my four legged friend, Bear. Bear is so full of life, love, and energy, and he always looks like he’s got a smile on his face. It was so fun to run around with him, and I especially loved watching him jump in the water and capturing the moments when he would run back up on shore to shake it off.
Little S and I met on a dreary November day, but quickly made the most of it by becoming best buds and playing in the colorful fall leaves! She is such a precious little one with big, beautiful eyes, She loved playing with my husband’s John Deere tractor and posing for the camera. We started out in my backyard taking some photos of her playing and then headed inside where she pretended to be Alice in Wonderland and then she enjoyed smashing, eating, and tipping over her cake.
Buddy is such a doll with his cute ears and fun personality! He’s an eight year old boxer who’s family knew he was the right dog for them by the way he walked over to them when they were picking him out. They love how snuggly, playful, and protective he is. His favorite toy is his duck, but he was itching to get his paws on the bright green toy I brought with me to the session. Of course, I let him play with it; how could I say no to that face!
I love photographing dogs, and Samantha, a beautiful golden retriever, was such a joy to work with; I swear, she was smiling the whole time! She loves running around, playing catch, and chewing her big tennis ball toy. She’s one happy puppy, but she has every reason to be, she has a great owner that loves her to pieces!
While in Wyoming, I was given the opportunity to stop by HF Bar Ranch, the second oldest dude ranch in the US. The property is absolutely stunning. I could have stayed there all day, or maybe days, just taking pictures of the horses, donkeys, and dogs. It’s filled with cabins, a trading post, a barn, trails, dirt roads, picturesque hills, hummingbirds, dogs, horses, and much more.
I wish it wasn’t such a cloudy day when we went because I would have loved to get pictures of the property with those big blue Wyoming skies, but hey, sometimes you just have to work with what mother nature gives you 🙂 Either way, I would love to stay there in the future – the staff is really friendly, and it looks like it would be an amazing experience!
Fun personal fact: did you know that my husband and I call each other dude? We rarely call each other by our names. I don’t know how it started, but it stuck for all these years!
I love animals. I simply just can’t get enough of them, especially if they’re a horse or a farm animal. These horses were just beautiful, and sweet. In the summer, they live high atop a mountain just outside of Buffalo, WY and are used by the cowboy to move the cattle around the many acres the ranch has. I honestly didn’t want to leave, I was having such a blast taking photos of them. Aren’t they gorgeous?
I’ve been photographing this family and little G now for three years! It’s been so much fun watching her grown from a baby to an always smiling little girl. First I watched her crawl and roll, then I saw her walk, and now she talks and runs and runs and runs! I was so excited to hear her talk; we talked about her friends at school and how school is almost over, which her mother was happy about because she’s a teacher, and it’s time for her summer break! We took their photos at Bauer Park in Madison, CT. I recently discovered this hidden gem, and I have to say, I love it! It’s very country and the grounds are just beautiful with so much to offer.
Little G has so much energy, that it’s hard to keep her sitting still! Her and her mother were doing laps around the landscaped tall grass islands.
This is why her mother took up running as her new love and hobby 😉
We hung out by the pond and looked for frogs (when she wasn’t running up and down the walkway). She loved the lily pads and swore there was a frog, but I never saw one. Maybe I just need more of an imagination or stronger glasses 🙂
When I found out that I would miss Dominic’s first birthday party due to a work commitment, I was pretty upset. When I found out his mom wanted his first year photos taken and had been planning a cake smash session, I felt a lot better 🙂
Dominic has to be one of the happiest kids I have ever met. He’s so full of love, smiles, and laughs and is always waving to people to say hello. He’s quick on his feet and a speedy crawler. When he grows up to be a racecar driver, like his dad, he’s going to be super fast out on the track; I can just feel it!
Dominic had a blast running around getting his photos taken, until we got to the cake smash… he just wasn’t having it. Maybe it was the monster on the cake, or maybe he just didn’t like the vanilla icing. Whatever it was, we still tried to make it work 🙂

Christmas is only 2 days away! So I thought I’d share with you my last session of 2014. I don’t think I could have picked a cuter way to close out my 2014 season 🙂
I don’t typically shoot indoors, but this session took place the first week of December, and let me tell you, it was COLD and very WINDY out, so we moved our session indoors. Luckily, one of the Christmas trees was in a room that had a ton of natural light, so it was PERFECT!
I had such a great time watching this little guy giggle and smile! … and those cheeks! I hope he brings a smile to your face, just as he did mine. Enjoy, and I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
It’s been a while since I’ve blogged, so here are a few photos from a family session I had this July at the gorgeous Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, CT. Enjoy!
