It couldn’t have been more of a perfectly picturesque day in Guilford, CT at Chaffinch Island when I took photos of this gorgeous chocolate labrador and his family. We were blessed with a bright blue sky with big fluffy clouds which made a perfect backdrop for our session with my four legged friend, Bear. Bear is so full of life, love, and energy, and he always looks like he’s got a smile on his face. It was so fun to run around with him, and I especially loved watching him jump in the water and capturing the moments when he would run back up on shore to shake it off.
Buddy is such a doll with his cute ears and fun personality! He’s an eight year old boxer who’s family knew he was the right dog for them by the way he walked over to them when they were picking him out. They love how snuggly, playful, and protective he is. His favorite toy is his duck, but he was itching to get his paws on the bright green toy I brought with me to the session. Of course, I let him play with it; how could I say no to that face!
I love photographing dogs, and Samantha, a beautiful golden retriever, was such a joy to work with; I swear, she was smiling the whole time! She loves running around, playing catch, and chewing her big tennis ball toy. She’s one happy puppy, but she has every reason to be, she has a great owner that loves her to pieces!
It is with a heavy heart that I write this blog post. My session with Daisy was quickly scheduled after I found out that she has congestive heart failure, and my friend was not sure how much longer she has to live. It could be a few days, it could be nine months; her family doesn’t know for sure.
Seeing Daisy, a seven-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, you would never know there was something wrong. She happily trotted around our session location with a smile on her face, taking in all of her new surroundings; she was so curious! And for good reason, she usually doesn’t go anywhere without her brother and sister, Rocky and Lucy! But today was about her and keeping her memory alive for her family who is heartbroken over the circumstances and the unknown. So here are my photos of this happy, sweet pup who’s full of love and kisses. Because she had to take it easy, we weren’t able to throw a ball or play with her, but I really just wanted to capture her in her joyful, natural state. I’m so fortunate I got the opportunity to spend some time with and take these photos of her.
I’ve photographed Tazer and Carrie before as a Valentine’s day present for her boyfriend Nick, but I never actually photographed all three of them. Here’s a few photos of their family of three 🙂
